Charlie's Closet

If you ever wonder what the closet of a little boy, that happens to be the little brother of triplet boys, looks like, here you go...

Actually, there are two walls in his closest to hang clothes. This rack is just for his long-sleeve shirts. Sweatshirts and short sleve shirts are on the other wall.

I finally went through my old boxes of the boys clothes and turned over Charlie's closet for the colder weather. The little man has 18 onsies, 12 blanket footie sleepers, 40+ long-sleeve shirts and TWO! pairs of jeans. I think he's pretty set...except for the jeans...how did that happen?!?!

He may not be the best dressed 2 year old, but he could probably win an award for the largest assortment of clothes.

I don't usually like watching videos on the computer...I'm too impatient with the commercial and stuff, but in my opinion, this one is well worth the wait.

Drew, the "Arthur"

So, Drew wants to be an "arthur" (author) when he grows up. He has decided to start his career by writing a dictionary. He has been working on this the last couple of night after dinner. He just grabs his crayons and paper and sits down at the table. He is doing this entirely on his own and has not asked anyone else any questions or for any help.

He tells me that writing a dictionary is hard work and takes a long time. He is still on "A", but he is going strong. Since the quality of the scan is not great, I am writing a translation of each page under the copy. He is doing an amazing job and it is hilarious. Enjoy...

Switching Gears....

I got so many nice emails today and this weekend with people asking how Jack is handing the ugly implosion of the Cubs. I also got a few "ha ha" type emails...so not nice!! Shame on you...you big meanie White Sox fans!

Anyway, back to the nice emails. You guys are awesome to think of Jack. Thanks for asking!!

I was out of town this weekend, but Spencer said that Jack did pretty well. Of course the game on Saturday night didn't even start until past Jack's bedtime so, he did not see any of the game. He did run in and wake Spencer up early Sunday morning to see if the Cubs won. Spencer said it was very sad to report to Jack that they lost. Jack really thought they were going to pull it out and win Saturday night (no laughing Johnny!). He was suprised that it was over and really disappointed. There were tears on Sunday morning, but #1 Daddy spent time talking to him about "how hard it is to win the World Series"..."and maybe next year"....and some blah, blah, blah about how the Phillies used to choke a lot too. Anyway, he survived and that although the Cubs are still his favorite team, he has decided to root for the White Sox now that the Cubs are out of it. Personally, I don't think that is the best decision and believe that there will be some more Jack tears flowing again pretty soon. I'm rooting for the Phillies.

Spencer did say that Jack watched the Bears game and was really in to it and was enthusiastically cheering on the Bears. I'm glad that at least the Bears won and helped make Jack feel a little better.

Gotta LOVE Pajama Day!!

Me waking Jack up this morning......

Me: "Jack, I have some bad news..."

Jack (interrupting me): "Hey Mom, do you know why I am smiling?"

Me: "ummm...no Jack, I don't."

Jack: "because today is PAJAMA DAY!!!"

Thank you God for sending Pajama Day for Jack TODAY!!!

Jack has woken up every day for the last 6 months asking if the Cubs won. It is literally the first thing out of his mouth EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. But today, he is excited because he gets to wear pajamas to school.

I did tell him the Cubs lost. He didn't even ask the score, he went back to talking about pajama day. I think he had already figured that they were going to lose and accepted it. How ironic...I guess he really is a true Cubs fan.

Go Cubs!!!! Please......

Short lived celebration...

Our family in cupcakes. BTW, Charlie has not decided on a team yet, so I designated him a Cubs fan just for tonight.

Tonight we "celebrated" all of our baseball teams making it to the playoffs. It is amazing that both the Cubs and the Sox are in the playoffs, apparently, it has been 102 years since it happened last!! And, the Phillies were able to pull it out at the end of the season and made it to the playoffs too. I wonder if this will ever happen again.

A "baseball" picnic dinner....hot dogs on a bun.

Drew LOVES the White Sox, when he is not spending his time LOVING the Cubs. He has officially declared himself a "Chicago Fan".
