Woo Hoo!!! This is the year...right?!?!?! What a great weekend series against the White Sox. I'm trying really hard to not *hate* the White Sox, but I've gotta tell you that I've been kinda giddy and the "Go Cubs Go...." song keeps replaying over and over in my head. Actually, I think it is only in my head 1/2 the time, apparently, Jack is as giddy as I am and keeps singing the song at all hours of the day.

Yesterday, I was listening to WGN on the radio and they were talking about whether or not it would be cool if there was a White Sox vs. Cubs World Series. Instinctively, I'm like "Yeah, why not?!?!?!". Then I started to think about it....
Now, the Cubs have not been to the World Series since 1945 (63 years ago...ask Jack). To put it in perspective, my dad has NEVER seen the Cubs in the World Series. Without even mentioning how awesome it would be for the Cubs to win the World Series for the first time in 100 years, it would be really, unbelieveably, cool for the Cubs to just make it to the World Series.
Now saying all that, just how bad would it suck for the Cubs to LOSE the World Series to the White Sox. Every time the Cubs have a really good team and a real shot at going all the way, something crazy happens. Wouldn't it just be dumb-Cubs-luck to finally make it to the World Series and then lose to the Sox. How painful would that be! Those crazy White Sox fans would drive me INSANE!!! Yes, I'm talking to you Johnny!
I do realize that I am getting ahead of myself. It is June, and these are the Cubs that I'm talking about. But as Cubs fans, we do have to enjoy it while we can. Hopefully, it will continue to be a very fun and exciting season (BTW, exciting to me means winning....to Spencer exciting means a close and interesting game. I'm not into that, I want them to WIN, all of their games.....by A LOT!!!!)

Oh Michelle, I definitely remember about the Cubs choking. That is why I posted this now instead of waiting for September or October. Gotta enjoy it while we can.
You really should give being a Cubs fan a try. It is really fun, well, except for the winning World Series part of it. You know you are jealous that the Cubs are so fun and the White Sox are so.....ummmmm....blah. ;)
GO CUBS GO!!! What an awesome series!! My neighbor across the street is a Sox fan and we were yelling at each other from inside while watching the game... it was so funny!! THIS IS THE YEAR!!! Now we need a repeat this weekend... wouldn't that be nice?!?! GO CUBS GO!!

Michelle, just remember the Cubs dont normally end in chocking, they ALWAYS end in chocking. A Cubs fan this week made two statements to me. His 1st was about what a wonderful place Wrigley Field is. So much history and tradition. I responded "Yes it does....a history and tradition of LOSING!!" He also asked me if he could borrow my broom, I responded "Sure, I keep it in the corner behind that big World Series trophy." GO SOX!!
